The Champlain – Lacolle border crossing is a major port of entry located between Champlain, New York and St. Bernard de Lacolle, Quebec. It is the primary Montréal–New York traveler corridor, with Montréal just 60 kilometers north of the border. It is the most used crossing in Quebec as well as the second busiest port of entry between the US and Canada that is not a bridge. This port also has the distinction of being the 5th busiest crossing between the US and Canada. Based on the data gathered by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, an average of 3,700 vehicles passed through this port each day in 2015. In July 2016, around 5,500 vehicles used this port each day.

The Champlain – Lacolle border crossing is sometimes referred to as the Blackpool border crossing by locals because an old crossing used to exist just east of this port. The Blackpool port was closed in 1967 after Interstate 87 was built.

The Champlain – Lacolle border crossing is open to all vehicles 24/7 in both directions. NEXUS lanes are available in this port. Going into Canada, NEXUS lanes are open daily from 6 am to 12 midnight. Going into the US, NEXUS lanes are open daily from 6 am to 8 pm.

Because of the large number of vehicles that pass through the Champlain – Lacolle border crossing, lines can get backed up at the port. Delays are expected to occur during peak hours, summer months, and holidays.
