Vanceboro St. Croix border crossing

The Vanceboro – St. Croix border crossing is a lightly traveled port of entry that links the town of Vanceboro, Maine to Saint Croix, New Brunswick. Less than 100 vehicles use this crossing every day.

Vanceboro used to be a booming rail town with a railway bridge that connected it to Saint Croix. In 1915, a German spy bombed the bridge in an attempt to interrupt the Canadian railway system during World War I. The bombing wasn’t very successful since it didn’t destroy the bridge like intended.
