The Opheim – West Poplar River border crossing is one of the top ten least traveled land ports between the US and Canada. Less than 20 vehicles pass through this border crossing every day. This port links the community of Opheim, Montana with Rockglen, Saskatchewan.   • The Opheim border crossing is a Permit Port which means that any individuals who wish to import cargo through this port need to get advance approval from the Area Port of Great Falls first before arriving at this location.
  • Opheim, Montana was founded in 1911 and named after the first postmasters of the town – Alfred and Helen Opheim. The town used to have its own railway depot, a United States Air Force General Surveillance Radar station, and many businesses. Most of these businesses and facilities have closed down or been abandoned, leaving the town with no major source of income.
