Morgan – Monchy border crossing
The Morgan – Monchy border crossing is one of the least traveled ports of entry between the US and Canada. Less than 40 vehicles, mostly automobiles, pass through this crossing every day. This port connects the communities of Loring, Montana and Val Marie, Saskatchewan. Monchy, Saskatchewan used to be a small settlement near the border. Today, it is just a border crossing that is made up of a customs building, three storage buildings, and a residence for the CBSA agents.
Hours of Operations & Wait Times in Morgan Monchy
The US port of entry is open to all vehicles daily but its operational hours change depending on the season. From June 1 to September 15 (summer), the US border station is open from 8 am to 9 pm (MDT). From September 16 to May 31 (winter), the port is open from 9 am to 6 pm (MDT).
The Canadian border station also changes its operational hours depending on the season and the vehicles passing through.

Things to Know Before the Morgan – Monchy Border Crossing:
- The Morgan – Monchy border crossing is the location where the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline was to cross the border before the project was rejected by US President Barack Obama in 2015.
- The village of Val Marie is considered the gateway to the Grasslands National Park where tourists can ride a traditional wagon, look over some dinosaur bones, check out old tipi rings, and share stories around the campfire.
