How Long do Felony or Misdemeanor Charges Last?
In Kentucky, you can request expungement for any number of misdemeanors. The old law only allowed one without any additional convictions or felonies. You do have to wait a five-year period where the charges and convictions will show up on your record. The cost to expunge a misdemeanor is $100 per case. Kentucky only allows some Class D felonies to be expunged. The cost is $500, and you can only request expungement for a felony once in your lifetime. Unless you petition for expungement, both felonies and misdemeanors will stay on your record forever.
