How Long do Felony or Misdemeanor Charges Last?
In New Hampshire, both adult and juvenile crimes can be expunged from your record and hidden from criminal background checks. Juvenile records are automatically sealed once you turn 21. Both felonies and misdemeanors are eligible for expungement after the waiting period. For felonies you must wait ten years, for others, you will only have to wait five years. Once you have completed the terms of your sentence, you can apply to have a misdemeanor expunged. Some crimes will stay on your record forever, like sex crimes.
