About / Additional Info: Cameron Parish was created by Act No. 102 of 1870 of the state of Louisiana in General Assembly and was approved on Tuesday, March 15 1870. On Wednesday, March 16, 1870 in accordance with Act 102 of that year, Cameron Parish was established from the southern part of Calcasieu Parish and from the Southwestern corner of Vermilion Parish. Cameron parish is located in the most southwestern part of our great State of Louisiana.
