Such message can consist of Severe Weather Alerts, Missing Children Alerts, Missing Person Alerts, Hazardous Situation Alerts, and Informational Advisory’s. This is a free service for the Public Service Agency and inflicts no cost to the taxpayer. To sign up for the service, text your zip code to 888777 and you will receive real-time alerts and advisories directly from the Forest County Sheriff’s Office. There is no charge for registering but standard text messaging rates will apply. You can opt out at any time by texting “STOP” to 888777. You may also receive alerts through email, however you will need to visit the www.nixle.com website to view instructions to sign up for that service..
