Ellington Probate Court serves the public by accepting and processing filings for: probate of wills and estate administration; trust matters; adult conservatorships; guardianship of minors; guardians of adults with intellectual disability; adoptions and termination of parental rights; emancipation and name changes; psychiatric and substance-use commitments; and related real-property and fiduciary matters. The court issues emergency protective orders where authorized (e.g., temporary conservatorships, emergency medical or custody decisions); appoints and supervises fiduciaries; audits accounts; and authorizes sales, distributions, and settlements.
