The prison, with about 8,008 square feet (744.0 m2), is located at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 2004 and Texas State Highway 36.[1] The prison, in the Texas Gulf Coast region,[2] is in proximity to the City of Brazoria,[3] and it is in proximity to the Velasco community, now a part of Freeport.[4] The prison is situated south of Houston.
