The Calhoun County Juvenile Home is operated under the auspices of the Calhoun County Board of Commissioners. The Detention Program is designed to provide a short-term, physically restrictive, safe and humane environment for 42 youth, both male and female, ages 11 to 17 who are detained pending further court action. The youth who are placed in the Detention Program via court order are experiencing difficulties in their community and are placed in detention prior to adjudication or while awaiting disposition or placement.
