Limon, CO Correctional Facility View

LCF was opened in 1991 Limon Correctional Facility (LCF) is located on Highway 71, two miles south of the town of Limon, approximately 80 miles east of Denver. The facility sits on 320 acres, 36 acres of which are enclosed behind a 4,000 foot, double-perimeter fence. LCF is comprised of 13 buildings that provide inmate housing and basic services including educational and work opportunities for the inmate population. The physical plant encompasses 377,400 square feet. LCF is an all male, Level IV facility with a capacity of 930 and inmates are housed in one of six general population living units which hold between 154 and 160 inmates. There are a total of 720 general population cells, 210 of which are double bunked. A separate Restrictive Housing Unit has an additional 28 cells. LCF houses a population comprised of close custody (49%), medium custody (45.2%), and minimum restricted (5.8%). Living Units 1, 2, and 3 are utilized to house close custody inmates. Living Unit 4 houses medium custody general population inmates with one pod designated as a re-entry pod. Living Unit 5 houses Medium custody general population inmates; Living Unit 6 houses Medium, Minimum Restricted and Minimum custody incentive qualified inmates. Close custody inmates on Restricted Privileges (RP) are housed in Living Unit 2. Medium custody RP inmates are housed in Living Unit 4. Unit 1 B-pod serves as the facility’s restrictive housing overflow as needed..
