Sevier County Circuit Court in Sevierville, Tennessee is a state Circuit Court (trial court of general jurisdiction) serving Sevier County within the Fourth Judicial District. It conducts jury and nonjury trials in civil matters (tort, contract, and property disputes) and exercises concurrent jurisdiction over domestic relations, including divorce, child custody, child support, and orders of protection. The court hears de novo civil appeals from General Sessions Court and appeals of municipal ordinance violations, and it issues writs and enforces judgments within its authority. Criminal prosecutions-felonies and most misdemeanors, including traffic offenses-are heard in the district's Criminal Court, not the Circuit Court.
