Jasper County Chancery Court, Second District, is Mississippi's equity court serving the public in family, probate, and property matters. It accepts and adjudicates filings for divorce, custody/visitation and support, paternity, adoptions, name changes; guardianships/conservatorships; wills, estates, and probate; real-property disputes (title confirmation, partitions, easements), trusts, and injunctions/declaratory relief. It also handles civil commitments. The court holds motion hearings, trials, and issues temporary and final orders; it can grant temporary restraining orders and protective relief in domestic/equity cases. Jury service is generally not required-cases are tried to the chancellor, with juries used only in limited issues.
