Platte County
Platte County, which was organized in 1838, lies in northwest Missouri. It is home to over 100,000 residents and the Kansas International Airport since it is situated within the Kansas City metropolitan area. Named for the Platte River, it has Platte City as its county seat.
The Platte County trial court system encompasses a circuit court and municipal courts. The Platte County Circuit Court is a general jurisdiction court that comprises various divisions grouped according to case type, including:

Associate Circuit judges, which function within the Circuit Court, exercise limited jurisdiction and hear criminal misdemeanors and infractions. Note, however, that defendants who have filed counterclaims exceeding $3,000 are eligible for a complete or part case transfer to another court division.
Furthermore, the Platte County Circuit Court's Municipal Court Division, which is a limited-jurisdiction court division, oversees violations of municipal ordinances, while the Traffic Court division exclusively handles cases involving violations of parking and traffic ordinances within the municipality.
