Wyandotte County
Wyandotte County was established in 1859. It was named after the âWendat' Indian Tribe. The county has a population of 165,746 and covers 127.8 square miles. Wyandotte's county seat is Kansas City, which is Kansas State's third-largest city. The largest industries in the county are meat processing, agriculture, and automobile manufacturing.
Wyandotte is served by the 29th District Court, which is divided into the Municipal Court and District Court. Most local residents dealing with Wyandotte's justice system for the first time feature as witnesses, victims, or defendants in Municipal Courts. Wyandotte's Municipal Courts handle adult misdemeanors, domestic violence, and DUI cases. The District Court handles criminal matters, guardianships, small claims, care of the mentally ill, and conservatorship cases. The Kansas Supreme Court is authorized to reverse, vacate, correct, or modify any judgments made by the District Court to ensure that such rulings are free of abuse. The Courts average more than 50,000 cases annually.
Wyandotte court records are official documents like witness testimonials, special assessments, and orders made during court proceedings.
