Leavenworth County
Located in the northeastern region of Kansas, Leavenworth County was formed in 1855 and named after an officer in the Indian Wars, General Henry Leavenworth. It has a land area of 463 square miles, and according to the 2020 US census, it has a population of 81,881. Leavenworth is its county seat and its largest and most populous city.
