Saline County
Located in Central Arkansas, Saline County was created in 1835 and named after the saltwater springs in the region. The county covers about 723 square miles of land area with an estimated population of 129,000. The county seat is Benton.
The Saline County court system operates through Circuit Courts and District Courts. The District Courts in the County have county-wide jurisdiction over preliminary felony cases, misdemeanor criminal suits, and certain types of civil suits in matters under $25,000. Also, the Saline County Circuit Courts are general jurisdiction courts, and they operate under five divisions, namely Probate, Civil, Criminal, Juvenile, and Domestic Relations Divisions.
