Baxter County
Baxter County has an estimated population of 42,000 people and covers 586.74 square miles. The county is located in north-central Arkansas. It was created from parts of four counties on March 24, 1873 and named after Elisha Baxter, the tenth governor of the state.
The Baxter County Circuit Court is a division of the 14th Judicial District of Arkansas. This court hears all appeals from the District Court. It has civil jurisdiction over all cases exceeding $5,000, felony cases, jury trial matters, mortgages, and other breach-of-contract suits. Furthermore, matters involving domestic relations, guardianship and probate, equity, and juvenile delinquency are under the Circuit Court's jurisdiction.
