Sheridan County
Sheridan County was founded in 1888 and is located in northern Wyoming at the base of the Big Horn Mountains. It was named after Civil War General Philip Sheridan. As of the 2020 United States Census, the county spans approximately 2,523.4 total square miles, giving it the designation of 17th greatest in size within Wyoming state. The City of Sheridan serves as both the largest city and the county seat. At least 30,921 people reside in the county.
The Sheridan County court system comprises a District Court, a Circuit Court, and three Municipal Courts. The Sheridan County District Court is part of the 4th Judicial District Court in Wyoming.
