Waupaca County

Established in 1853, Waupaca County was named after the Waupaca River in the state of Wisconsin. The county has a land area of 747.7 square miles and a population of over 51,000 residents. Its government seat is Waupaca City.

Waupaca County's judicial system consists of a Circuit Court and two Municipal Courts. The jurisdiction of the Waupaca County Circuit Court covers civil cases such as contractual disputes, torts, personal injury claims, land disputes, and monetary claims. The court also hears small claims, criminal, probate, family, and juvenile cases. Municipal Courts operate within cities and towns in Waupaca County. These lesser courts have authority over ordinance violations as well as certain juvenile matters, such as truancy, drug offenses, underage drinking, and curfew violations.
