Eau Claire County
Eau Claire County was created by the Wisconsin State Legislature in 1856 and named after the Eau Claire River. Its largest city and county seat is the City of Eau Claire. The county has a land area of 638 square miles and 7.3 square miles of water bodies. As of the 2020 census, there are 105,710 people in Eau Claire County.
The court system in Eau Claire County comprises municipal and circuit courts. The Augusta-Bridge Creek Joint Municipal Court is the only municipal court in Eau Claire County. The court hears City of Augusta ordinance violations, traffic infractions, and non-jury trials for first DUI offenses. It also hears some juvenile cases.
The Eau Claire County Circuit Court handles all jury trials and cases beyond the jurisdiction of the Augusta-Bridge Creek Joint Municipal Court. It hears civil and criminal cases. It also handles probate, domestic, and most juvenile matters.

The Eau Claire County Clerk of the Circuit Court maintains the public records for the Circuit Court in compliance with state and county regulations. In-person requests can be done via the Public Access computer in the lobby of the Clerk of Court office.
