Chelan County
Chelan County, founded in 1899, is a hub for tourism in the eastern portion of Washington. Encompassing approximately 2,992 square miles, it is home to a population of 79,993. The county's name originates from a Chelan Indian word meaning âdeep water,â and its county seat is Wenatchee.
The Chelan County Superior Court is a court of general jurisdiction that presides over a wide spectrum of criminal and civil matters, including property crimes, felonies, mental illness, juvenile crimes, divorces, probate of estates, and matters of domestic violence.

Some of the criminal cases handled by this court include unlawful hunting, theft, animal cruelty, and DUI. It also has jurisdiction over civil claims not exceeding $100,000 and small claims for amounts up to $5,000.
Operating under the supervision of the Chelan District Court, the Wenatchee Traffic Violations Bureau is responsible for processing traffic offenses, accepting bail for specified offenses, and issuing receipts to traffic violators.
