Val Verde County
Val Verde County is named after the Battle of Valverde, which took place during the Civil War. The county was established in Texas in 1885. Its current administrative seat, Del Rio, was originally inhabited by Spanish tribes but became part of the United States following the Mexican War. According to data recorded during the 2020 U.S. Census, its population stands at 47,586.
Val Verde County's judicial system consists of several courts, each with its distinct jurisdiction.
