Warren County

Warren County was established in 1800 by an Act of the Pennsylvania Legislature from parts of Allegheny and Lycoming Counties. Its land area is about 884.3 square miles, and its estimated population is 38,492. The county seat is the City of Warren.

Warren County courts include a Court of Common Pleas and Magisterial District Courts. The Court of Common Pleas of Warren County is located in the 37 Judicial District of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It has jurisdiction over probate, juvenile, mental health, felony, and civil cases. It has a Family Hearing Division, an Orphans' Court Division, and a Domestic Relations Division, which handles domestic relations and child and spouse support matters. The Magisterial District Courts, with three districts, conduct preliminary hearings and deal with cases involving misdemeanors, traffic infractions, and ordinance violations. It addresses small claims cases involving as much as $12,000 in damages.
