Blair County
Blair County is located midway between Harrisburg and Pittsburgh. It was established on February 26, 1846, and has its administrative seat in the Borough of Hollidaysburg. According to data recorded in 2020, the county has a total population of 122,822. The primary economic activities conducted in the county include retail trade, services, and manufacturing.
Blair County's court system consists of Courts of Common Pleas and Magisterial District Courts. The Court of Common Pleas hears a variety of criminal and civil cases, including felonies, misdemeanors, domestic relations cases, juvenile matters, adoptions, and civil cases without financial limits. They also have the jurisdiction to address appeals of administrative agency decisions and review arbitration cases. The Magisterial District Courts, on the other hand, hear most summary offense cases, third-degree misdemeanors, and municipal ordinance violations. They, however, do not have the jurisdiction to hear claims brought by or against the state.
