Lincoln County
Lincoln County is located on the central coast of Oregon. It has a population of 50,395 people living in it. Its county seat is Newport. Lincoln County was named for the 16th president of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln. It was created on February 20, 1893, and spans 1,194 square miles. Lincoln County was created from the western portion of Benton and Polk counties. It adjusted its boundaries in 1923, 1925, 1927, 1931, and 1949. When it was created, Toledo was picked as the county's temporary government seat.
