Warren County
Warren County was established in 1803 from Hamilton by an act of the Ohio Legislation. In this Act, Hamilton was divided into several counties. Warren County was also named thus after General Joseph Warren, who died during the American Revolution's Battle for Bunker Hill. Warren County currently has a population of 249,778, covering 401.4 square miles.
Warren County is found within the Twelfth District Court of Appeal. They are served by the County Court, Court of Common Pleas, and the Municipal Courts. The County Court presides over criminal, civil, or traffic cases within the Hamilton, Massie, Salem, Washington, Clearcreek, Harlan, and Wayne townships. The Common Pleas Court is also a trial court with jurisdiction over justifiable matters and review of proceedings. The municipal courts hear small claims cases and traffic cases.
