Warren County
Warren County came into existence in 1825 by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature from parts of Sussex County. With a land area of 356.5 square miles and an estimated population of 109,739, its county seat is situated in Belvidere.
Warren County courts include a Superior Court, a Surrogate's Court, and Municipal Courts. The Superior Court has jurisdiction over felony, domestic relations, juvenile, mental health, small claims (less than $5,000), and civil cases in which the amount in contention is more than $20,000. Warren County Surrogate's Court, also a Chancery Division of the Superior Court, handles probate cases, including adoptions and minor's trust funds. Municipal Courts deal with traffic infractions and ordinance violations.
Warren County public court records include rulings, motions, judgments, and docket information created and maintained in different forms during court proceedings. It is worth noting that a request for records from the clerk's office costs a $0.05 fee per page for an uncertified copy and a $15 fee for a certified copy.
