Currituck County

Founded in 1668, Currituck County is home to 28,616 residents, and it occupies a land area of approximately 262 square miles in northeastern North Carolina. It was formed from territories owned by Albemarle County and named for a Native Indian term meaning "The Land of the Wild Geese." Its county seat is Currituck, while its largest community is Moyock.
