Alexander County
Alexander County, North Carolina, got its beginning in the year 1847 and was constructed from Wilkes, Iredell, and Caldwell counties. The county was named after one of the North Carolina House of Commons speakers, Julius Alexander. It has a land area of 260 square miles and a population of 36,444 (2020 US census). Bethlehem is the largest community in the county, and Taylorsville is its county seat. The people from Alexander County are served by a Superior Court and a District Court.
The Alexander County Superior Court handles cases outside the District Court's jurisdiction. It hears all felonies, civil proceedings involving claims over $25,000, and some misdemeanors.
