Lee County
Lee County was established in 1866 by the Mississippi Legislature from portions of Itawamba and Pontotoc Counties. Its land area is about 450 square miles, and its estimated population is 83,343. The county seat is Tupelo.
The Lee County court system includes a Chancery Court, a Circuit Court, a County Court, a Youth Court, and both Municipal and Justice courts. The Circuit Court has jurisdiction over felony and civil cases. It hears appeals from the County Court, the Justice Court, the various municipal courts, and administrative agencies. The Chancery Court Chancery hears domestic relations, family-related matters, mental health, and probate cases. The County Court handles misdemeanors, civil cases involving less than $200,000, and appeals from the Justice and Municipal Courts. Lee County Youth Court presides over minor cases, including delinquency, supervision, and neglect. The Justice Court conducts preliminary felony hearings, misdemeanors, traffic infractions, and small claims cases involving $3,500 or less. Municipal Courts in Lee County deal with misdemeanors, traffic infractions, and ordinance violations.

Records from the Circuit Court Clerk's office cost $1 per page and an additional $1 fee for certified copies. Anyone may request Chancery Court records by visiting the office of the Chancery Clerk. The cost of obtaining copies of Chancery Court records is $0.50 per page, with an extra $1 fee for certified copies. Additionally, the public may look up Lee County Circuit, Chancery, and County Court records online on the CRMS Public Access Portal.
