Wright County
Wright County is situated in the east-central region of Minnesota. It was named for Silas Wright Jr., who served as a member of the United States House of Representatives. Wright County was founded on February 20, 1855, with the county seat in Buffalo. Its largest city is Otsego. Wright County stretches across 714 square miles and is home to more than 151,150 people.
The District Court is the only trial court in the county. It is located in Buffalo, where the seat of government operates. As part of the 10th judicial district, it handles all cases in the county. These range from civil, probate, small claims, domestic relations, traffic violations, and criminal matters.
The civil division handles mortgage foreclosures, divorces, and court-ordered removal of abusive partners. The probate division handles the appraisal of assets of a deceased. They also ensure the payment of debts owed by a deceased. The juvenile division prosecutes juvenile delinquencies and traffic offenses. It discourages truancies in schools by working closely with parents. The family division ensures foster care for adults and children through licensed providers. It attends to cases involving persons with developmental disabilities. The criminal division sentences criminals for felonies.

Court records are stored in the courthouse or electronically. They can be accessed on the public computer terminals.
