Sherburne County
Sherburne County was created in 1856 from Benton County in central Minnesota. The county is home to approximately 102,275 residents and covers a land area of about 432.9 square miles. The county seat is the City of Elk River.
Sherburne County is served only by a District Court. The District Court handles civil, criminal, probate, domestic relations, juvenile, traffic, and ordinance violation cases. It has a Conciliation (Small Claims) Court that hears general claims of less than $20,000.

The state's Judicial Branch allows anyone to search Sherburne County court records online through the Minnesota Court Records Online Portal. Per Section 357.021-2 (2022) of the State of Minnesota Revisor of Statutes, there is a $14 fee for certified records and a $14 fee for exemplified copies.
