Baltimore County
Baltimore County, founded on June 30, 1659, stands as the third most populous county in Maryland. The county covers a total area of 682 square miles and it is home to a population of 854,535 inhabitants. Baltimore County derives its name from Cecil Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore, an English politician, lawyer, and the original proprietor of Maryland.
The trial court system in Baltimore comprises District Courts, Circuit Court, and Orphans' Court.
