Henderson County

Henderson County was formed in 1798 and named after Richard Henderson, an American politician. The county has a land area of 436.4 square miles and a population of over 44,000 residents. Its county seat and largest city is Henderson.

The Henderson County trial court system consists of a Circuit Court and a District Court. The Circuit Court has general jurisdiction over several types of cases in Henderson County. Matters within the court's authority include capital offenses, felonies, civil claims exceeding $5,000 in value, real estate disputes, requests for prerogative reliefs, and contested probate matters.
