Barren County

Barren County was established in 1798. The county was carved from parts of Green and Warren Counties and was initially settled by Scot-Irish immigrants. Its seat, Glasgow, derives its name from its namesake city in Scotland. According to the 2020 U.S. Census, Barren County had a population of 44,485.
