Shelby County
Shelby County was established in 1821 and is located in central Indiana. The county seat is Shelbyville. Shelby County covers an area of 411.1 square miles of land, ranking 23rd in size among Indiana's 92 counties. As of the 2020 U.S. Census, the population was approximately 45,055, placing it in the mid-range for county populations in the state.
