Putnam County
Named after a general in the American Revolutionary War, Israel Putnam, Putnam County, Indiana, was established in 1821 and organized in 1822. It has a land area of 480 square miles and a population of about 37,000. Greencastle is its largest city and county seat.
The Putnam County court system comprises a circuit and superior courts.
