Porter County
The Circuit Court and Superior Courts are the two major courts within the Porter County court system. Other courts, such as the Juvenile and Family Drug Court and the Family Court, are local problem-solving courts that aim to reduce recidivism and resolve family disputes by offering rehabilitation and support services.
The Porter County Circuit Court hears major criminal, civil, and domestic relations cases. This court has exclusive jurisdiction over all probate matters, including estates, trusts, adoption, and guardianship. The Juvenile and Family Drug Court serves the community by providing programs and intense supervision for juveniles with severe substance abuse or substance dependence.
