Daviess County
Daviess County was established in 1818. It was named for Major Joseph Daviess, a U.S. District Attorney for Kentucky who was killed at the Battle of Tippecanoe. The county's terrain is hilly, and most of its area is devoted entirely to agriculture and urban development. As of 2020, over 33,381 people resided in the county. Its seat is Washington.
