Woodford County
Woodford County was established in 1841 and named after William Woodford, a general during the American Revolutionary War. The county has a land area of 527.6 square miles and a population of over 38,000 residents. Its government seat and largest city is Eureka.
Residents of Woodford County are served by a single trial court, the Woodford County Circuit Court. This court has jurisdiction over civil and criminal cases arising in the county, such as real estate cases, breach of contract, personal injury, small claims, felonies, and misdemeanors. Additionally, it handles domestic and juvenile matters, including divorce, child custody and visitation, paternity, child support, and domestic violence.
