Kendall County
Kendall County, Illinois, was created in 1841 from parts of LaSalle and Kane Counties. It covers 322 square miles, including 320 square miles of land and 2 square miles of water. The county was named in honor of Amos Kendall, who served as the editor of the Frankfort, Kentucky newspaper and later became a key advisor to President Andrew Jackson. Kendall County is part of the Chicago metropolitan area and home to over 131,869 residents. The county seat is Yorkville, and the most populous municipality is Oswego.
