Dupage County

DuPage County is located in northeastern Illinois and was founded in February 1839. With a population of over 930,000, DuPage is the second most populous county in Illinois. The county is named for the DuPage River and its largest city is Aurora, while the seat is Wheaton.

The court system in DuPage County comprises administrative adjudication systems and a circuit court. Administrative adjudication systems typically handle ordinance violation cases, such as local traffic tickets, parking tickets, disorderly conduct, curfew violations, nuisances, property maintenance violations, littering, and zoning and building code violations.

The circuit court in the county has general jurisdiction over all civil and criminal cases, except cases handled exclusively by the court of claims or the Illinois Supreme Court. The court has separate divisions, such as chancery, domestic relations, and felony courtrooms.

All public court records are open to the public during the office's business hours between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on court holidays. Also, the clerk of the DuPage County Circuit Court has computerized information terminals located at 505 N. County Farm Road, Wheaton, for public viewing of circuit court records.

Note that the circuit clerk's office partners with I2File to provide the public access to copies of court documents. To use this service, you must register with I2File, and then click the appropriate link to request document copies. Copies of court documents are charged $2 for the first page, $0.50 cents per page from pages 2-20, $0.25 cents per page thereafter, and $6 per document certification.

You may perform a search on the system by providing ticket or complaint number information, case number, or case name information.
