Bryan County
Bryan County, located on the south of the Georgia coast and west of savannah, was founded by an act of state legislature in December 1793. The county was named in honor of one of the leading colonial settlers in the state - Jonathan Bryan and is home to over 44,000 residents.
Municipal courts, magistrate courts, probate courts, juvenile courts, state courts, and superior courts make up the court system in Bryan County. Municipal courts hear cases of city or town ordinance violations, while magistrate court jurisdiction covers civil claims cases of up to $15,000, dispossessory writs and distress warrants, bad checks, preliminary hearings, and certain minor criminal offenses.
The superior court is the general jurisdiction trial court with exclusive authority over felony cases and cases relating to land, divorce, and equity matters. The state courts handle all civil cases not within the superior court's exclusive jurisdiction. State courts also hear criminal cases such as misdemeanor criminal matters and traffic offenses.
The probate court has jurisdiction over probate matters such as wills and administration of estates of deceased persons, issuance of marriage licenses, and the appointment of temporary guardians of the persons of minor. The juvenile court exercises jurisdiction over cases involving delinquent and deprived minors.

These documents are maintained by the office of the clerk of court. You can obtain a physical copy of a court record by visiting the courthouse and submitting a request with the clerk of court. The portal redirects requesters to a third-party website where an account is required to search court records. Also, the clerk of courts makes county court docket search available online. Users can search the docket by party name, case number, and associated party.
