Solano County
Located in the northeastern corner of the Bay Area, Solano County is one of California's original counties. It was named for Chief Solano of the Suisun people at the request of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, his close ally. The county has a land area of approximately 822 square miles and an estimated population of 449,218.
Solano County's trial system comprises a sole Superior Court that has jurisdiction over all legal matters in the county and handles them through its Criminal, Civil, Small Claims, Family Law, Juvenile, Adoptions, Probate, and Traffic Divisions. Some cases commonly filed in this court include felonies, misdemeanors, infractions, personal injury claims, breach of contract, divorce proceedings, landlord and tenant cases, small claims up to $12,500, child custody and support, juvenile delinquency cases, conservatorships and guardianships, and traffic violations. The Superior Court also operates a Treatment Courts Division that offers several programs aimed at reducing recidivism by providing eligible offenders an alternative to jail time in the form of court-supervised, intensive, long-term treatment plans.
Solano County public court records refer to any documented information generated during or received in relation to judicial proceedings and other court-related activities in the county. Sworn affidavits, court orders, transcripts, summonses, subpoenas, witness testimonies, verdicts, judgments, and settlement agreements are just a few examples of these records. The Solano County Superior Court Clerk's Office is the official custodian of the county's court records and is also responsible for ensuring that they can be accessed by members of the public, per California Rules of Court 2.400 â 2.573.
