Navajo County
Navajo County, established in 1895, is located in the northeastern part of the state. It was split from Apache County and comprises the Show low-Micropolitan Statistical Area. The county covers about 9,949.5 square miles and is home to a population of approximately 107,110 people. Holbrook serves as the county seat.
Navajo County's court system includes the Superior Court, Justice Courts, and Municipal Courts. The Navajo County Superior Court, as the general jurisdiction court, handles felony cases, civil cases with claims over $10,000, disputes over title and possession to real property, family law matters including divorce, annulment of marriage and custody, and probate issues. It also serves as the appellate court for lower court decisions. The county's Justice Courts have limited jurisdiction over civil claims of $10,000 or less, misdemeanor allegations such as shoplifting and bad checks, small claims, criminal traffic offenses, including DUIs, preliminary felony hearings, and requests for order of protection and injunctions against harassment. It also handles criminal offenses punishable by a fine of not more than $2,500 or six months of incarceration. Municipal Courts in Navajo County, including the Pinetop Lakeside Justice-Magistrate Court, deal primarily with city ordinance violations and petty misdemeanors within city limits.
Navajo County public court records include documents such as transcripts, dockets, case summaries, and sentencing reports generated from court hearings and other judicial activities within the county. The Clerk of the Superior Court manages these records and makes them accessible to the public according to Arizona's Public Records Law. Records available to the public typically include:

However, certain records, such as juvenile and mental health files, are confidential and only accessible by authorized individuals.
