Crittenden County
Located in the eastern region of Arkansas, Crittenden County was founded in 1825 and named after Robert Crittenden. It has a land area of 610 square miles and as of the 2020 US census, a population of 48,163. Marion is its county seat, and West Memphis is its largest city.
The court system in Crittenden County comprises district and circuit courts. The Crittenden County District Court handles most misdemeanors, traffic offenses, county ordinance violations, as well as preliminary hearings for felony cases. It maintains an exclusive jurisdiction over civil cases with claims under $100 claims but shares its overall jurisdiction with the Circuit Court for any of the civil cases with claims beginning at $100 and ending at $25,000. The court has extensions in six cities within the county: Earle, Gilmore, Jericho, Turrell, Marion, and West Memphis.
The Crittenden County Circuit Court hears cases beyond the jurisdiction of the District Court. It hears all felonies, some misdemeanors, probate matters, juvenile cases, domestic relations matters, and commitment to mental health institutions. It exclusively hears civil proceedings with more than $25,000 in claims but can also handle civil cases with claims between $100 and $25,000.

The Crittenden County Circuit Clerk maintains court records from the Circuit Court, and the Crittenden District Court Clerk maintains those of the District Court in compliance with the state law.
