Landlord-tenant complaints and civil actions where the amount in controversy is between $4,500 and $15,000 are within the District Court's jurisdiction. The District Court has a Small Claims division that settles financial disputes for up to $4,500. Meanwhile, the Juvenile & Domestic Relations Court in Danville City oversees legal matters involving juvenile delinquency, child custody, and domestic violence cases.

Danville City public court records contain trial transcripts, case filings, dockets, dispositions, and court judgments. These records are usually open to the public under Virginia's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to ensure transparency and accountability in the city's justice system.
