Clackamas County
Clackamas County is the third most populous county in Oregon with a population of 421,401 inhabitants. It was originally named Clackamas District, being one of the four original Districts created on July 5, 1843 by Oregon's Provisional Legislature. Clackamas County spans 1,883 square miles. Its county seat is in Oregon City while Lake Oswego is its largest city.
Circuit Courts, Municipal Courts, and a Justice Court make up the trial court system in Clackamas County. Circuit Courts in Clackamas County are courts of general jurisdiction and the highest trial courts. They settle issues on land dispute, juvenile, adoption, child custody, and probate matters.
